My team, Charmed Life Productions, did participate in the 48 Hour Film Project in Greensboro, Aug. 3-5. Here are details. And remember, we only had 48 hours to script, shoot, edit, score and turn in a film with certain required elements.
The elements for the film that we had to work with
We drew the genre: Road Movie
Prop: Magnifying glass
Character: Joe or Joanne Taylor, Night shift worker
Line of dialog: Hug me close and call me 'Sugar'
Highlights of the weekend
We couldn't think of "just the right" title until about 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Title of the film: "Hitting the Road"
Tag line: One road leads to where we need to be.
We turned our film in at 7:14 Sun. night. Deadline was 7:30
We have a good story with a "struggle/resolution/with a twist?" I was concerned that we couldn't pull off that kind of "feeling" drama. I believe we did.
We have an original soundtrack that makes the story POP!
We shot well into Sat. night and finished shooting on Sunday morning. We were fortunate to have cast and crew that got along amazingly well.
We had two film editors on separate Mac G5 systems, both with
Final Cut Pro, and one sound engineer/composer on a MacBook Pro
using a variety of software and instruments.
Watch Hitting the Road now. Feel free to rate it, comment and send it to friends.
