In celebration of Independence Day (and for shameless self-promotion), I've moved this movie up near the top of my Stumbles. Enjoy your freedoms!
Must See Film
This short film was made as part of the 48 Hour Film Project.
On Friday night, July 21, 2006, in Greensboro, NC, competing teams of filmmakers each drew a slip of paper from out of a hat to determine the genre of their filmmaking efforts spanning only 48 hours. My team, Charmed Life Productions, drew "holiday" film. Additionally, every team had to use the same prop, character and line of dialogue. For Greensboro filmmakers those elements were:
- Prop: Bubble wrap
- Character: Ben Or Barbara Jones, TV personality
- Line of dialogue: "It's just like my mother always said."
Filmmaking teams from throughout the Greensboro area successfully completed a weekend of filmmaking. Films were due on Sunday, July 23, and the last few minutes before the deadline saw filmmakers, operating on little sleep and lots of adrenaline, rushing to get their films in on time.
We turned our film, "Liberty," in on time. The screenings for the 36 completed films were held July 29th. There were many awesome films screened that day and our film was well-received.
So watch "Liberty" and remember, we only had 48 hours to make it - scripting, shooting, editing, music -- EVERYTHING!
Feel free to rate the film and please let me know what you think of it.
